Still have not run since

IMAG0044.JPG

It is now close to 18 months that I ahve not been able to run consistantly enough to manage a 10km run weekly.  Still to today regular massage and chiropractic adjustments have not managed to keep my body alligned enough to re-gain my fitness.  Every 2 weeks on average, by back "goes out" with the simplets move of picking a toy off the floor.

Lucky the kids were not in the car.

The car accident

IMAG0041.JPG

Eight weeks before the half marathon, I was involved in car accident where my car was t-boned which placed the car into a spin which only stopped when we collided into a telephone pole.  It was telephone phone that thank-fully prevented our car plowing into residential homes.

Yes the car was a ride off

Marathon Helen

I never thought I could ever run a half marathon (21km) but I have.   It may not be the prettiest photos, but I was doing it hard. My goal was to simply cross the finish line within 2.5 hrs, as I was injured, had only run a 10km run the month before and was restricted to cycling a few times a week to try and maintain a level of fitness.  Must admit the few jelly beans tucked away in my back pocket certainly kept the legs moving.

My next goal is to run another half marathon in October and break the 2hr mark.  I'll keep you posted

Helen In Training - Jan 2008

 helentoned300.jpg

After 18 months of eating a little of everything, exercising effectively  and never dieting,

Helen has regained her toned body similar to that prior to starting her family.

Message from Helen:  I strongly recommend that you set yourself weekly goals,  reward yourself for achieving them and watch the centimetres drop.  Climb the mountain slowly and steadily and you will succeed also.  Good-Luck.

She eats a little of everything (thoroughly enjoys her daily treat),combines strength training with running or cycling, now fitting in a size 8.
Helen's final goal is to get her six pack back that she had before her child bearing years and become toned.  Look out for he final reveal.

4 weeks post birth 28th October 2006

merry-go-round-Helen.jpg

The journey of every weight loss story is different, on the 28th September 2006, Helen had her third child within 3 ½ years.   Helen was unable to exercise during her third pregnancy and required insulin to control the onset of gestational diabetes.  A weight gain of 20 kilograms resulted.

Early February 2007 Helen started her weight loss program . Helen’s initial assessment demonstrated 25% body fat , fitting into a size 12 clothing.
